First Presbyterian Church, Shelbyville is bringing Jim Conway to lead an all day interactive workshop on the 40 Assets for building strong, successful youth in Shelby County. The Search Institute has been teaching community leaders who deal with middle and high school youth about the 40 Asset Approach to developing youth so they can succeed in life. The idea is that the more of these assets a teenager has the better the chance for that young person to succeed in life. It takes the community to partner with parents and the teenager to provide the building blocks for success.
Jim has been invited to come share with educators, parents, youth workers, mentors and community leaders in a highly interactive day-long workshop on the Assets Approach to raising youth in today's world. The church will provide lunch, snacks and drinks, lots of material, and 6 CEU's for those who need the credits.
Cost is $10. For questions or to register, please call the church office at 317 398-8224. Ask for Pastor Mark Morningstar.
