This event is a part of Shelby County Reads programming. The 2018 theme is 'The Art of Reading.' Shelby County Reads is a community wide reading program. Each year, a committee selects one main book (along with books that relate in theme for youth) and encourages the public to read them. These books are then donated and distributed throughout all of the county schools and highlighted at the public library and local businesses. Events coinciding with the books are held in the fall of each year. THE MURALIST by B.A. Shapiro is the main 2018 book selection. The organization is a nonprofit that raises support through local donations and grant funds. A special thank you to the Blue River Community Foundation who has offered time and funding to the program for fifteen years.
