Optometric Technician
McDaniel Family Eye Care | Full-Time | Monday–Friday (No Weekends)
McDaniel Family Eye Care is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our team. This position is essential in delivering outstanding care to every patient by assisting the doctors and ensuring smooth clinical operations throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and assist the doctor during evaluations
• Accurately perform pre-testing, including visual acuity, retinal imaging, and visual field testing
• Record and update patient medical histories and medications
• Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
• Maintain and clean examination equipment and instruments
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide front desk coverage as needed to support a smooth office workflow
• Verify insurance benefits and assist with billing or coding as needed
• Support frame styling and lens selection when needed
• Follow all HIPAA and safety guidelines to ensure patient privacy and care standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior medical or optometric experience preferred (will train the right candidate)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and a caring, team-oriented attitude

Schedule 

• Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Office hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• No weekends
