QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid Indiana Teaching License
• Ability to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and
interest level of the students
• Organizes and presents daily lesson plans that reflect instructional best practices as outlined in school
improvement plans or professional development initiatives and that reflect the scope and sequence outlined in
curriculum maps
• Utilizes technology as an instructional, communication, and management tool
• Assists in the development and evaluation of curriculum maps
• Assists administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the
classroom, develops reasonable rules and procedures to maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just
manner
• Recognizes the importance of team concept
• Able to communicate and meet with parents as needed along with the ability to respond to parents° inquiries in a
timely manner
• Ability to maintain a good rapport with school community and positively meet the public
• Identifies students' needs, makes appropriate referrals, and implements
appropriate accommodations/interventions as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IP), Individual Learning
Plans (ILP), 504 Plans, or Response to Intervention (RtI) Plans
• In agreement with the Philosophy and Goals of Shelbyville Middle School.
LICENSE: Valid Indiana Teaching License
