POSITION: Shelbyville Middle School Effective Date: August 03, 2022
In School Suspension Instructional Assistant - 28 Hours a week
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains discipline in a positive way
- Keeps daily logs and monitors attendance of students
- Coordinates with teachers so students can work on school assignments
- Assists with remediation and academic support, when necessary
- Provides supervision for students who are assigned to the - In School Suspension classroom
- Ensures students have security escorts to lavatory facilities
- Ensures students have security escorts to cafeteria
- Reviews - In School Suspension policies, procedures, and student expectations with students daily
- Stays in communication with building level administrators on attendance and/or behavior issues as well as students making little or no progress.
- Attends assigned professional development trainings.
- Demonstrates good organizational skills and a willingness to be flexible
- Maintains discipline as outlined in the student handbook.
- Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies, and Employee Handbook
- Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
- Maintains satisfactory attendance
