    Essential Functions:

    • Dedicated to achieving plant safety performance and continuation of developing a safety culture
    • Perform technical analyses of manufacturing and process data
    • Identify process bottlenecks through time studies and other methods
    • Apply analysis results to improve processes and meet customer expectations
    • Identify recommendations to enhance manufacturing capabilities through new ideas and/or methods
    • Participate in projects and/or assist project sub-teams involved in process and product optimization, innovation, cost reduction, or other related business activities
    • Under the supervision of the Manager, Engineering, execute projects to fulfill department goals and objectives in the areas of cost reduction, productivity gains, process flow, capacity increases, scrap reduction and process and product enhancements
    • Maintain process set points and control for the curing, sizing, facing, and packaging
    • Responsible for overall process quality and coordinating with suppliers to improve quality
    • Review all new product requests and approve them based on plant capabilities
    • Maintain all data pertinent to the process including KIMS requirements and up keep of records
    Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
    • Lean certification(s) preferred
     
    Experience:
    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Process Improvement/Manufacturing Engineering in a high-volume manufacturing facility preferred
    • Continuous Improvement experience highly preferred
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering standards in a manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of process/continuous improvement tools, methodologies and practices
    • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC and computer based control systems
    • Understanding of ladder logic and ability to use Rockwell RSLogix to troubleshoot and make process changes
    • Ability to understand and write work instructions and procedures for the production team
    • Ability to reason deductively and inductively
    • Ability to make quick, thorough decisions
    • Ability to read blueprints preferred
    • Ability to communicate effectively within the plant and throughout the organization as necessary
    • Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time, visiting other plants or suppliers if/when an issue arises

    Physical Demands:
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds

    • 24/7 operation, may be required to take calls off-hours

    • May be exposed to extreme temperature changes and dusty conditions
    • Moderate noise level
