  • Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: 10-16-20

Thank you to our volunteer Kristin for her pictures of our two newest strays/dumped/abandoned dogs that have entered our facility from South 600 West in Shelby County.  Sadly it has become the norm, we post information and no one recognizes them.  We are usually inundated with tips because the public cares about animals and not the humans who do them wrong.  Named Spark (already adopted) and Plug they were roaming together but do not have to be adopted together.  Spark (black lab/heeler mix female that weighs 37 pounds) is young, easy on a leash and good with children and other dogs.  Her friend Plug is a neutered male Boxer mix who is older, probably around six or seven years old, and also has easy leash skills.  Many times he barks at you, but he is frustrated and wondering why he is here and what happened to the human he was so loyal too.   Plug's adoption fee is $30 for his Home Again Microchip and registration, booster and wormer.  They both were treated for fleas because poor Plug looked like he had been neglected.  If you are interested in meeting Plug, our adoption hours are weekdays from 10:30 to 4:30.   Questions?  Email me at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call your dedicated shelter team at 317-392-5127.  As always, thank you for your support of us and the pets that are homeless.  God bless you and stay safe, Chris Browder
