Pet of the week - Zara

She's happy to be home.  The Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter met her in August in 2017.  She was just a three-month-old pup who was abandoned by her owner.  She was adopted, named Zara and returned in October, 2017 for her mandatory spay surgery.  Unfortunately, the Noblesville couple did not follow the contract and gave the dog away to a couple who later released her onto the streets.  The Humane Society picked her up and contacted her home away from home, our shelter.  We always want our pets back because we love what was originally ours and will adopt her to someone who better understands (and respects) our contract.   Zara is spayed, current on her booster vaccinations, bordetella and heartworm negative.  She is also microchipped through Home Again and that chip will be changed as soon as she is adopted by a loving and forever family.  She is a year-and-a-half and loves children, playing tug-of-war and is good with other dogs.  Zara is all smiles, has a happy tail and walks well on a leash.  Welcome home Zara, we will love and care for you until we find that incredible family.  Her fee has been waived to a preapproved home.   Questions about Zara or our other beautiful pets, email me anytime at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call your dedicated shelter team at 317-392-5127.
