  • Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: 9-11-2020

It was Friday, September 4th when animal control was called out to East 1200 South at the Shelby/Bartholomew County Line on a stray Walker Coonhound that showed up at a property.  Without an implanted microchip, collar with ID tags or missing report, we were unable to find his human.  No one in the area recognized the thin and malnourished dog.    Throughout his ordeal, "Trek" has been resting, eating great and nutritional food and walked through our trails with staff and our faithful volunteers.  His energy is returning and he is filling out and no longer showing his ribs and hips.  Trek's adoption fee of $95 covers his future neuter surgery, rabies/booster vaccinations, flea preventative, Home Again Microchip and registration.  He's a handsome tricolor that seems to like everyone he meets and just wants to be someone's companion.   Questions about our beauties?  Email Chris Browder anytime at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call your dedicated shelter team at 317-392-5127.
