    SCHOLAR ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Hope Fenton, a 2006 graduate of Waldron Jr. /Sr. High School, was named one of Shelby County’s 2006 Lilly Endowment Scholars.  She graduated from Indiana University in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education.  When Hope was asked how impactful this award was for her she stated, “This scholarship helped me to keep my student loan debt at a minimum.  I was able to pay off the small loans I did accrue within a few years.  Because teacher salaries are generally low in the state of Indiana, this scholarship helped me tremendously with becoming self-sufficient and keeping me in the education field.”  read more
