    Jody Butts & Wendy Stephenson
BRCF is excited to announce that Jody Butts and Wendy Stephenson have joined our board of directors.
Jody Butts, a graduate of Waldron Jr./Sr. High School, was one of Shelby County’s Lilly Endowment Community Scholars in 2001.  She graduated from DePauw University in 2005 and IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2010.  Jody is a partner with McNeelyLaw LLP where she concentrates her practice in trust and estate planning, labor and employment, and municipal law.  She remains active in the community by serving on numerous boards and committees including Blue River Community Foundation’s
Scholarship Selection Committee.  We are proud of Jody and her long list of accomplishments and grateful for her desire to give back to BRCF.  Learn more about Jody.
Wendy Stephenson is a lifelong resident of Shelbyville.  Her husband, Mike, is a local attorney and together they have three daughters, Ashley, Katy and Phebe and a son, Kyler. After 10 years of teaching, Wendy transitioned to a career as a Financial Advisor at VALIC, where she stayed until retirement. She is a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she serves on their Parish Council.
She has also had the privilege of being part of the following boards of directors: Girls Inc, Shelby Senior Services,
SCUFFY, and Mainstreet. Wendy’s involvement with fundraising and volunteering with those organizations as well as Shelby County Players, Arts Fest, and Rock Steady Boxing, have been some of her favorite work.  We look forward to Wendy bringing her expertise in finance, fundraising, and leadership to our organization.

    2021 Giving
Without the generosity of our donors, BRCF’s work in the community would not be possible.  In 2021, we received over $10.1M in gifts and 38 new funds were established. WOW!  Please click here to view a list of these new funds. Thanks to everyone for continuing to allow us to meet your charitable goals.
Snip Six Report:  Friends of the Library
As part of BRCF's COVID relief efforts in 2020, we awarded Fundraising Gap Mini-Grants.  These grants were funded by the Shelby County Disaster Relief Fund, the Beaty/C-Tech Fund, and the Deprez & Marks Fund.  Friends of the Library Foundation was one of the grant recipients. They utilized their $2,500 award by passing the generosity forward.  Check out their unique twist below in their snip six report.
