Shelby County 4-H Awarded Indiana 4-H Foundation Grant, Assists Pantry Pals

Shelby County 4-H applied for one of the Indiana 4-H Foundation COVID-19 Grants to help the community during these difficult times. We were awarded a grant for $1000 and donated those funds to support the Shelby County Pantry Pals organization. They provide food assistance to approximately 500 members in the community. In addition to donating the grant funds, our Shelby County 4-H members created healthy recipes and submitted pictures of themselves working on their creations. Those recipes were then combined into a handout that was distributed at the various food pantry locations. One of the 4- H mission areas is Healthy Living, and our members exemplified those skills with this service project. This was a wonderful opportunity for Shelby County 4-H members to come together to help our community.

We are extremely thankful to the Indiana 4- H Foundation for graciously awarding us one of these grants to be used directly here in our community!
