Love, Space Art in the Library Air

Love is in the air and eclipse art is in library at the Shelbyville and Morristown branches of the Shelby County Public Library. Librarians and staff have stuffed their programs like custard into a heart-shaped pastry, and they are so sweet you will want to visit multiple time.
Valentine’s celebrations begin on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with the movie “Much Ado About Nothing” at the Morristown Branch at 4 pm. Enjoy a version of Shakespeare’s timeless tale of misunderstandings, manipulations, and interrupted weddings, then discussion the movie and the written play at 6:30 with the Ken Jewell Literary Society.

Mix up a sparkling “love potion” with Molly and Myla in Youth Services in the Shelbyville Branch on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 5 pm. Or stop by Morristown Branch’s Library Camp for Anti-Valentine’s Day Art. At 2 pm on Wednesday, Stephanie brings her musical talents for a session of “Name That Tune” in Room D of the Shelbyville Main building. A hint: all songs will have the word “love” in the title.

A movie matinee with a hilarious take on love and marriage will screen at 2 pm Feb. 16 in Room B of the Carnegie East Wing. Actors and comedians Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley entertain in another tale of mishaps and understandings.

Eclipse art takes center stage this week at both library branches. Adults and teens can meet at either 2 pm or 6 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 13 in Room D of the mail building. These workshops are free, but registration is recommended. Sign up near the adult circulation desk or call the library 1t 317-398-7121.
