Shelbyville, IN - Shelby County Public Library is hosting Bogeys & Books, an 18-hole mini-golf fundraiser inside the library, 57 W. Broadway St., on Saturday, September 21 from 10 am to 3 pm.
The event offers a “tee-rific” time for serious mini-golfers and casual players of all ages. Advance tickets are available now through September 20 at the adult circulation desk in the main building – just $5 for golfers ages 3-15 and $10 for ages 16 and up. Tickets may also be purchased at the door – ages 3-15, $8; ages 16 and up, $10. All tickets are nonrefundable.
Entrance to SCPL’s own “Library Links” will be in the alley door by the book drops. Once inside, attendees are bound to have a ball putting their way through themed holes scattered throughout the library while supporting a good cause. Funds raised from this event will directly provide many things that help bring our community together to learn and grow, such as programming, technology, acquisitions, and staff development, according to Library Director Brandy Graves. Along with the indoor fun, yard games will be set up in the outdoor plaza. After working up an appetite, participants can head out to the parking lot and grab a bite from Mac’s BBQ & Catering and Snowie of Indy.
Rascal’s Fun Zone has generously loaned putters for the occasion. Hole sponsors include Bishopp’s Appliances, Brammer & Yeend Professional Corporation, Dave Childres (State Farm Agency), Horseshoe Racing & Casino, Land for Commissioner, Major Health Partners, Runnebohm Construction Company, Inc., Runyon’s Tire & Auto, Ryobi Die Casting (USA) Inc., and Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant Pam Weakley. Sponsorships are still available.
Shelby County Public Library offers a wide array of programs for adults, teens, and children: story times, book discussions and author visits, how-to programs, and entertainment events such as this one.
