  • Shelby County Tourism: 2020 Big Blue Barbeque canceled

It is with a heavy heart that Shelby County Tourism and Visitors Bureau has decided to cancel the Big Blue Barbeque Public Events portion of the event.

Due to concerns for public safety, for vendors, attendees, bands and car show enthusiasts, we feel this is the most prudent decision for everyone involved.

Next year is our Shelby County Bicentennial - and the Big Blue Barbeque will be bigger and better than ever!
The State Championship Big Blue Barbeque for the teams is slated to go on as usual.  We have a full slate of teams for the Big Blue Barbeque - 50 total.

The general public is welcome to visit the teams on Saturday,  however masks are required per KCBS requirements.  We, as hosts, must follow the rules and requirements set forth by the sanctioning body of the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
Thank you all for your continued support and understanding.
