  • Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter: Animal Shelter welcomes new Animal Control Officers

The Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter is happy to introduce to you our two newest Animal Control Officers, Hunter Jordan and Billy Leffler. Hunter is a 2021 graduate of Shelbyville High School who wanted a profession where he could give back to his community. Like his older brother SPD Officer Shepard, he wants to pursue a field in law enforcement. Hunter is an owner of a European Doberman named Tank, enjoys playing basketball and roots for the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Cardinals, as well as college basketball teams Louisville and Kansas. Billy Leffler came to us from Shelbyville/Shelby County Police and Fire Dispatch where he worked for fourteen years and was ready for a change. For 15 years, Billy continues to serve as a reserve police officer for the City. He has been married to his wife, Shelli, for eight years and is blessed with three sons. Billy enjoys watching the Broncos, Red Sox and college teams IU and Notre Dame. Please join us in welcoming these two incredible men who share our mission in saving lives.
