This homecoming rock show at The Strand, Dustin Koester & Friends brings world-class talent and a handful of stories to a sentimentally-charged small town stage. In the same building where Dustin grew up seeing movies, eating too much candy, and scoring his first kiss, you’ll hear him perform his favorites from his life so far, including songs from The Animals, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Jesus Christ Superstar and other favorites, as well as exclusive performances of original music by band members and notable Indianapolis music scene heavyweights Davey Allen (Eric Burdon & The Animals, Davey And The Midnights), J. Elliott (singer/songwriter, previously of Stereo Deluxe), and Geoff Zentz (longtime collaborator, previously of The Dead Weight).

 

Dustin is a native of Shelbyville and graduate of Shelbyville High School.  A passionate musician from a young age, Dustin flourished in the school music programs, getting involved in most of the bands and choir ensembles available. As a senior at SHS, he won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and earned scholarships to attend summer music camps. While attending Indiana University, he was a member of the Marching Hundred Drumline and also played the drum set at both mens and women’s basketball games.  We look forward to Dustin's performance at the Strand.   Tickets are available online, at the door, and at Shelbyville Paint.    The performance starts at 7:30pm.

When you come to the Strand this holiday season, you will see a Lionel train set.  This is done by our volunteer Bob Schlick.   The engine is a 1939 Lionel Flyer that was his childhood train.  Come see Bob and watch the trains...it is fun no matter your age!

 

The women's restroom drain saga continues.   This weekend we will again need a plumber.  The issue is somewhere between Post Street (yes, we have a street behind the theater) and the front lobby.  That is beyond what we can figure out.   Let's hope it's a simple fix.

 

The rest of the theater had been behaving.  We are prepared for the cold weather, and looking forward to a robust end of our 2023 Season.  We hope you can make it to one of our performances.
