Tilson: Tilson partners with Indiana Chamber on Workforce SolutionsDecember 17, 2018
The Indiana Chamber has released the findings of this year’s Employer Workforce Survey, sponsored by Tilson. The headline reveals 51% of Hoosier businesses left jobs unfilled due to underqualified applicants.
This past weekend, Tilson CEO Brent Tilson together with Jason Bearce of the Indiana Chamber spoke with Inside INdiana Business TV host Gerry Dick to discuss the workforce challenges facing Indiana businesses and how a new institute will help address those talent issues. Watch here.
“Companies have gone out over the last few years and hired talent or people who don’t meet the needs and they’ve paid for it. That’s the headwind we’re facing – as these companies are growing and going to hire, and the talent isn’t there, that’s going to slow down the strong economy if we don’t fill these jobs with the right talent,” said Brent Tilson.
Tilson is partnering with the Chamber to help reverse these workforce trends. The new Institute for Workforce Excellence is dedicated to helping Hoosier businesses attract, develop and retain talent by connecting them with the tools and resources available to assist in building their talent pipeline.
“The challenge is employers today are moving at a fast pace and trying to fill these jobs. Looking to the government is not how most employers think about solving their workforce needs. I think it’s great that the State Chamber has moved forward with this initiative to start to connect the employers and the resources they have available – we just have to do more."
