    Looking Back: March

In March, Woodland Terrace of New Palestine had a lot of fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Residents got to enjoy Shamrock Shakes and Leprechaun Sugar Cookies while playing a trivia game called Truth or Blarney.

Chef Bryan and his team also served residents a traditional St. Patrick's Day meal of corned beef and cabbage.

The Woodland Terrace Luau was brought back by popular demand. We enjoyed music provided by DJ Chuck Guhl and had fierce competition with our flamingo racing! Thank you to all of the staff and residents for making this a special day.

    Meet the Medical Director
Woodland Terrace of New Palestine offers an onsite clinic where residents can receive urgent and primary care from our dedicated Medical Director and Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Marwan Mustaklem visited Woodland Terrace to speak to our residents about his passion for geriatric care and anti-aging. He allowed the residents to get to know him and answered some of their questions. Thank you to Dr. Mustaklem for this opportunity for our residents. We appreciate you and your services.

We will soon get to know Nurse Practitioner, Crystal Wiles. We are proud to offer these services for our residents. Both Crystal Wiles and Dr. Mustaklem come to us as highly preferred Justus Care Network Service Providers.

    Visitation Update
We are excited to announce a new change to our visitation policy! Although there are still precautions, including scheduled visits, social distancing and face masks required, now residents' friends and family can visit their loved ones inside of the resident’s apartment!

Please call 317-623-5850 to schedule your indoor visitation, and check out this video for more information.

    The Importance of Grip Strength

Having a strong grip makes it easier to perform normal daily tasks like holding a coffee cup, carrying grocery bags, or brushing your teeth. Research has shown that a person’s grip strength can be an indicator for overall muscle strength, upper limb function, bone mineral density, increased fractures and falls, and overall quality of life. Learn more about grip strength in this article from Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc.
