The Indiana Department of Health announced that Hoosiers age 80 and older will be eligible to register for a free COVID-19 vaccine beginning Friday, January 8 at 9:00 am.
The vaccine will first be offered to those 80 and older, followed at a later date by those in their 70s and 60s as supplies allow.
There are three ways to register.
- Go online to ourshot.in.gov, search for a nearby vaccine clinic and select an appointment time.
- A caregiver or loved one may make an appointment on a resident’s behalf.
- Make an appointment by calling 211.
Appointments for the second dose will be made at the clinic when the first dose is administered. Residents must receive their second dose at the same location.
Independent Living Residents should take advantage of the free vaccine as offered and explained above. Please let your RSC or Concierge know when you receive the vaccine.
Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents may receive the vaccine at our community when CVS provides the vaccine clinic. Residents who are able and prefer to go out for the vaccine in lieu of waiting for the onsite clinic may do so. Residents who receive the vaccine offsite must submit a copy of their vaccine card to the Health Services Department upon return from receiving each dose.
If residents wear a mask and go out for a vaccine or for a doctor’s appointment and makes no other stops, they will not be required to quarantine upon their return.
Thank you for making a lifesaving decision and being a part of history.
