Trauma, Past and Present: How it Affects Families
On June 15 FUSE will host Angela Hardy, MS LMHC via Zoom. We will discuss what C-PTSD is and how the nature of certain disorders, conditions, or caregiving demands can create ongoing trauma for families. We will also discuss how people with certain presentations can become traumatized by typical life stressors in a greater degree. Join us for a forum to share the types of responses, situations and look for strategies to cope and manage.

Speaker: Angela Hardy
Angela is a Hancock County native and mother of six children, in addition to serving as a foster parent for four years. In 2016, she completed work on a graduate degree, a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has worked in the mental health field during her education as a foster/adoptive parent, home-based family specialist, as a therapist at a women’s shelter, a university mental health counselor, and most currently is a home-based therapist working with families in crisis. This particular population has led Angela to an understanding that there is an immense need in her own local communities for resources to assist families struggling to work through dysfunction and challenges. She envisioned a comprehensive program which would offer the education and support that parents need, intervention and creative expression learning opportunities for the children and young adults, and individual and family therapy for specialized strategies and solutions, so that less families would find themselves in crisis situations. Angela has a commitment to offer these services to the communities of Greenfield, Shelbyville, Rushville and outlying south/east of Indianapolis to bring a much needed resource close to home for families in her area.
