Library of Things Launch Party Featuring Virtual Dementia Tour at Shelby County Public Library
The Shelby County Public Library offers more than just books. The “Library of Things” is an expanding trend among public, academic and special libraries worldwide. Our library provides a variety of items that you might only need temporarily and may not want to purchase. This includes assistive technology and dementia sensory kits.
Visit us on Thursday, October 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to explore our complete collection. On the same date, patrons may also take a Virtual Dementia Tour. This tour offers caregivers a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of dementia, empowering them to deliver more compassionate, person-centered care.
Through this eye-opening simulation, caregivers can step into the daily mental and physical challenges faced by those with dementia. The Virtual Dementia Tour is a window into their world, providing a transformative experience in just 30 minutes. Call 317-604-5520 to schedule your tour.
