This year's Pioneer Fair is scheduled for the last weekend in September, Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30thPlease note this change. Our hope is that the temperature will be a bit cooler than it was last year by moving the fair two weeks later. We are looking forward to another great event, especially for this anniversary year!
Last year we had over 100 volunteers who helped make the Fair a success. We also had over 1,000 visitors who attended during the weekend, and, we once again ran out of supplies at a few booths, most notably the children's area. We are hoping that you will volunteer again this year as we envision making the 2018 fair an even bigger success. The Shelby County Historical Society could not continue to host this event without your help.
For those of you who are new to the Pioneer Fair, our primary goal is to present a craft/history fair that will educate, excite and entertain people of all ages about the pioneer days in Shelby County.
Currently, we are hoping to get an idea as to how many volunteers plan to participate this year. Click here for the volunteer sign-up sheet. Please fill it out and return it by Wednesday July 18.
We are very excited to be planning for another successful Pioneer Fair and we hope you will be a part of it. If you know of someone else who also may want to participate, please let them know about the fair and ask them to contact us or Grover Museum.
We feel confident that with your help this Pioneer Fair will be even bigger and better than last year's. Volunteers like you, with the knowledge, skills and a willingness to help are vital to sustaining our local educational history. You are the core of the fair's success. We look forward to hearing from you. Please do return the form by July 18th and feel free to call one of us, or Grover Museum (317-392-4634) if you have any questions. Sarah or Alex will gladly help.
