This month, learn how to use oils for common ailments and discover tips for canning and preserving foods.
The first session of Beekeeping for Beginners will be offered from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 20. Learn the basics of beekeeping and the steps to having your first hive. The course, presented by Brittany Elliott, will recur monthly. This session will include hive set up and care; ecological importance; and honey harvest.
The programming is a response to the growing movement toward modern homesteading. The trend originates from a desire to step away from consumerist culture and lead simpler, more self-sufficient and sustainable lives with a connection to nature.
