Major Women's Alliance Style Show:
A Major Good Time for a Major WISH
On November 8, 2024, 284 ladies and gentlemen gathered at Horseshoe Indianapolis Casino for dinner, a silent auction, raffle, shopping, and fashions from the MHP Gift Shop, all hosted by the Major Women's Alliance! Over $28,000 was raised to help fund the latest project of the Major Women's Alliance, Major WISH.
The Major Women's Alliance is a dues-paying group of the MHP Foundation. Their purpose is to make "the Major difference" for our patients. Their latest initiative is Major WISH, and while all of their projects are very meaningful, this one is especially touching.
Recipients of the Major WISH program are terminal oncolocgy patients at MHP nominated by MHP Oncology Staff for one last Major WISH to be granted through the Major Women's Alliance. Since the program's inception, 7 Major WISHES have been granted. They include: house cleaning, spa days, groceries, lawn care, a family day out, a trip to see the ocean, and more. We're sure you'll agree that is is an awe-inspiring, heartfelt program put together by the Major Women's Alliance! It's one of our favorites for sure!
We Can't Do What We Do Without YOU!
As we approach the end of 2024, we wish to extend a heart felt THANK YOU to ALL of the donors to the MHP Foundation this past year. At the MHP Foundation and at Major Health Partners, we believe that the desire to help our fellow human beings in times of illness is universal and elemental, and our donors have proven that belief to be true. We are so grateful, and so are the people we have been able to serve with the very best in healthcare. All thanks to YOU!

The Major Women’s Alliance is a dues-paying organization within the MHP Foundation who uses their collective dues to fund projects that make the “MHP Difference” for our patients. Not only do they host an annual style show that's tons of fun, they also:
-- create bags of helpful items for patients receiving treatment in oncology, cardiology, nephrology, and wound care. These patients often need specialized items to help with their care and healing, and these bags help supply those needs.
-- sew port pillows for oncology patients with ports to shield their ports from their seat belt straps.
--supply stuffed animals for every pediatric patient needing surgery and a children's print pillowcase for every pediatric patient admitted.
--sew a fleece Christmas stocking for every baby born at MHP during the month of December.
Members of the Alliance pay annual dues ranging from $25 per year to $125. Members can choose if they would like to be a financial supporter only or a financial supporter and program volunteer. This group strives to be inclusive, and they always have a good time!

Don't Forget the Importance of YMCA Scholarships!
When we first heard Scott Wade's incredible story, we knew we wanted to share it with you. Born with birth defects, Scott has endured many significant life changing surgeries that now require him to utilize a wheelchair for mobility. This has not changed his positive spirit or stopped him from doing extraordinary things!
As Scott, his wife, and their three children embark on their one-year anniversary of becoming YMCA members, he reflects on how the Y has transformed his life in ways he never expected. Three to five days each week for Scott are spent in the beautiful YMCA pool where he swims one mile. After hitting his one mile swim goal, he completes a victory lap where he is overcome with gratitude for the profound accomplishment of completing the swim once again. Scott's YMCA swim workouts have not only helped to condition and build up his stamina for his lacross team, they have also made him thankful for his health and a place that has become a home away from home.
Did you know that one of the MHP Foundation's initiatives is supporting membership scholarships at the YMCA? It is through this program that individuals who cannot afford a YMCA membership are eligible to receive financial assistance. With the help of this scholarship, Scott's life has been changed, one lap at a time.
In keeping with our mission addition initiative for "Improving the Quality of Life and Health in Shelby County by addressing Social Determinants of Health," we would like to invite you to join us as a Partner in Health to help continue to offer these valuable health solutions. Thank you for your kindness in considering a gift today.
