    May 2025 NEWSLETTER

    Dear Courtney,

We’re building more than just walls—we’re building opportunity.

This month, we’re excited to share that construction is officially underway at The Where House as we begin our expansion! Thanks to a generous donation of block and materials from Lee Building Products, we are one step closer to providing more space, stability, and support to the men in our program.

The expanded sleeping area will allow us to serve more participants as they work to rebuild their lives and become contributing members of our community. We can’t wait to share photos with you soon—watch for updates!

As always, thank you for being part of the Rupert’s Kids family. Your continued support makes growth like this possible.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT : REGHAN RICHMOND, PEER RECOVERY COACH

Reghan Richmond has been part of the Rupert’s Kids team since 2019, drawn to the work through her own journey in recovery. Helping others walk a path she knows personally has become her passion—and her purpose.

For Reghan, the most rewarding part of her job is being there at the beginning, when everything feels overwhelming. “Early recovery is where it all starts, and it’s an honor to be part of that foundation,” she says.

One success story that still moves her is one of the first participants she ever worked with—someone who came in facing serious legal challenges. Today, that same person is raising a son who’s graduating high school and owns his own home. “Watching that transformation,” Reghan reflects, “is why we do what we do.”

Despite the joy, the work comes with challenges—most of all, the growing need for more peer recovery coaches. Still, Reghan believes deeply in the mission: “Reentry and rehabilitation programs are 100% necessary. People need a safe place to transition and relearn how to live again.”

She’s learned something powerful from the participants themselves: “If you have the drive to be in recovery, nothing will stop you.”

To anyone considering work in this field, she says, “You’ll be amazed at how much you get back just by giving.” And to the community, she offers a reminder: “Keep supporting us. When we work together, we help people discover a better way to live.”

Reghan’s hope for the future of Rupert’s Kids? To continue changing lives—one second chance at a time.
