Dear Strand Fan, 

 

CRUSH: THE BON JOVI CONCERT EXPERIENCE takes the stage tomorrow night February 22 at 7:30pm.   This band provides our audience with the look and sounds of Bon Jovi.   Tickets will be available at the door, so just show up!   You can also buy your tickets online or tomorrow morning at Shelbyville Paint.   Doors will be open at 6:45pm and our friends and supporters at Capone's will provide the bar.  

 

LEGENDS (1985)  Tuesday Night Film Series continues with the Tom Cruise film LEGEND.   The film was not well received when it premiered.   Since that time it has grown in popularity into what many consider a cult classic.   This is a great chance to see it on the big screen.  The all star cast and outstanding cinematography will bring this film to life.   February 25 at 7pm.  Tickets are available at the door. 

 

 

The 2025 Friday Night Frights Season starts on Friday February 28.   This year we are featuring the films of Stephen King.    The first journey will be with CREEPSHOW (1982).   Each month we will feature a different Stephen King film.  This year FNF starts at 7pm.   Season passes are available at a discount price.  Come join the Friday Night Frights family, now in our 13th year.  The movie starts at 7pm and tickets are available at the door.

Wow!  Straight On: Tribute to Heart was outstanding.  Lead singer Monique Bennett put on a great performance.   The bass player Jerry Olinger played a "stick" bass.  This is the size of a full upright string bass without the body.  This is the first time we recall having one of these instruments on our stage.   

  

This year we are photographing and documenting every guitar that plays at the Strand.   At the end of the year we will produce a poster "Guitars of the Strand."   So far with only two performances, we've heard 9 different instruments.

The Girl Scouts are selling cookies every Tuesday night at the Strand this month.   (editor's note: the Thin Mints are irresistible).   We enjoy helping them accomplish their goals and grow as our next generation of philanthropists.  

 

We appreciate your support.  We are all volunteers,  The positive comments after our events keeps us going.   We had one patron this week (who has been to probably 2 dozen Strand concerts) say this was "the best yet!"   The same person said that after the first concert too.
