    Dear Strand Fan,

    THE HEATHERLYS
    SATURDAY APRIL 20, 2024
    7:30PM

Eric and Lindsey Heatherly have always been heavily influenced by Americana, spanning from the 1950s through the 1980s. Everything about it, from the clothes to the architecture fascinate the couple.

The Heatherlys will be bringing that passion to the Strand Theatre this weekend for a performance that will feature a “mishmash of everything,” Lindsey said Thursday morning, from classic country and rock ’n roll covers to original music written by Eric as a solo artist and music written by the couple.

The couple – with Eric on electric guitar and Lindsey on electric bass – are backed by a band featuring drums and a “utility player”. Who plays a little bit of everything, from steel guitar to saxophone and trumpet to harmonica and “about anything else, he’ll find a way to play for us,” Eric said.

Growing up, he started collecting old guitars, baseball cards, vinyl records, posters and anything unique he could find at flea markets, according to the couple’s website.

That passion found its way on stage when he was pursuing a record deal, where he and his band dressed in vintage clothing. The look caught on with his audiences and later caught the attention of his now-wife when they met.

“It just fascinates us,” Eric said of that era. “We live a vintage lifestyle”We’re definitely soul mates. We married into this with the same exact vision. When we got married, our music just exploded into those eras with the rest of our lives. We’re just trying to make music that has a vintage feel to it but is modern.”

Lindsey said she was greatly inspired by Dolly Parton and loved the hair and fashion from the 1960’s.

“It just kind of worked,” she said.

Saturday’s show will feature a lot of surprises for the couple’s fans, because of the support they have received from the community.

The Heatherlys have performed in Shelbyville – just not at the Strand. They said they have performed at street festivals, Capone’s Downtown Speakeasy and at the Knights of Columbus.

“Our music is like if you could take a road trip down Route 66 and start in Branson, Mo. and end up in Santa Monica, Calif. our CD feels like a road trip written on Route 66,” Eric said.

It will be a frantastic concert.   Tickets are available online, at the door, and locally at Shelbyville Paint.   Doors open at 6:45pm.
