• Civil Construction Estimator

     

    HIS Constructors, Inc is a leader in providing environmental remediation, civil construction, and industrial services. As an established nationwide contractor, we are looking for an Estimator to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing bid packages, conceptual estimates, analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    ESTIMATING:

    · Attend site visits, prepare cost estimates and proposals for projects

    · Responsible for all phases of completing estimates or budgets including: adherence to estimating schedule (internal and client schedule); understanding of applicable regulatory compliance; ensure proposal is completed pursuant to client bid proposal requirements; significant contact with clients or client representative, regulatory agencies and subcontractors during the bidding phase of a project

    · Make bid presentations, along with management, to potential customers

    · Utilize HCSS “Heavy Bid” software in preparing estimates

    · Promote estimates into job accounting software

    · Schedule and attend pre-planning & project in-house meetings.

    · Provides support to projects/tasks managed by subordinate member of the estimating group

    · Prepare Change Orders and Extra Work pricing

    · Maintains favorable productive client relations throughout project and negotiates change orders with client

    · Provides expertise by assisting with project scope, technical approach and resource allocation phases of project development

    · Any other duties assigned by management

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    2 year college degree in construction management

    OR

    Four-year college degree in engineering, technology, construction management, or other related field

    OR

    4+ years of related civil construction experience. 

     

    The following are also required for this position.

    · Minimum 40-hour work week. (Overtime will most likely be required.)

    · Ability to work on new estimates and supervise multiple current projects simultaneously.

    · Organized

    · Good attendance

    · Ability to grow into positions of more diverse and responsible nature

    · Limited travel required
