• Summer Construction Yard Coordinator

    This seasonal position is responsible for managing the equipment yard, small tools, small equipment, and material inventory for all HIS companies including Transport, Constructors, and Blue River. This position could possibly become a permanent position later in the season.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

    · Maintain, in real time, an accurate inventory count of all materials, supplies, small tools and equipment.

    · Track all materials and small tools that leave and enter the shop/yard.

    · Assist in loading and unloading trucks to ensure everything is put in its proper place in the yard/shop.

    · Act as the Safety representative for the yard. Will be periodically audited by the VP of Risk Management.

    · Help to ensure that all small tools and equipment are in good working condition.

    · Perform general building and yard maintenance.

    · Ensure the yard is organized and presentable within reason.

    · Load and unload all trucks with tools, equipment, and supplies to jobsites when scheduled and in a timely manner.

    · Any other duties assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Organization and attention to detail are critical for specific tasks. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or better. Construction knowledge/experience.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Valid Driver’s License. Clean driving record. Pass background check and drug screen. Must be 18 or older.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Mostly outside job with exposure to all weather types. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The atmosphere and attire is casual. Safety equipment such as vests, hard hat, steel toed boots required.

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

    The following skills and abilities are required for this position.

    · Minimum 40 hour work week; 50 hours during the construction season

    · Able to work on multiple projects

    · Organized

    · Good communication skills

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Must be able to handle heat and cold. Heavy lifting, operating machinery, climbing off/on machinery required. Will be standing/walking for long periods. Personal transportation to and from work is required, (occasional use of company vehicle).
